Zoar Craft Bazaar 2013

Craft Bazaar at Zoar UMC, Snellville, GA

Craft Bazaar at Zoar UMC, Snellville, GA

It is that time of the year again – autumn, fall colors, cooler weather, pumpkins, spice, warm drinks and Craft Bazaars! Time for my first Fall 2013 Bazaar coming up this weekend at Zoar UMC in Snellville, GA. Have many new things for this year – crocheted baby hats, crocheted beanies for teens and adults, crocheted scarves and cowls, crocheted embellishments for all of the above, hair accessories, painted silk scarves and lots of jewelry.  Every single piece has been slowly and lovingly hand crafted and made in a smoke and pet free environment. I hope if you are in the area you will stop by, shop my booth and the many others who are there and get some of your holiday shopping done – family, friends, co-workers, teachers et al. Something to please everyone at this show. The venue will have a silent auction, door prizes, a bake sale, a BBQ lunch and a KidsZone for your kids to give you a chance to shop for them!

As I prepare for my third annual show put on by the Friends of Alpharetta Library things start to be all over the place again. I have beads, jewelry, yarn, scarves, baby hats, price tags, tablecloths, display boards and all the other “stuff” that I carry to a show. The tent and tables are not in the room that I assemble bits and pieces in preparation for the show.  However, altogether, these things will quite fill up the boot and the backseat area (thank goodness for drop down seats that help extend trunk space!). This year, in addition to what I have taken to shows before, I am also taking some handmade silk cuff bracelets in gorgeous colors and copper and brass scarf ties made by a long time friend and metalwork artist Rhonda Waters. Plus, I will have some of my favorite traditional, artisan made lac jewelry that a friend sells but is unable to do so any more! Here is how lac jewelry is made.

Details on the show:

WHEN: Saturday, 4th May 2013

TIME: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

WHERE: Alpharetta Library lawn, Mayfield Road, Alpharetta

WHAT: Jewelry, scarves and baby hats

It is a great time to be shopping with Mother’s Day and teacher appreciation gifts as the school year comes to a close. I do hope that you will stop by, look through some of my material and support other local artists. In addition to my booth, in the past there have been a couple of other jewelry booths, a lady who makes quilts, doll clothing, a potter and the monthly Book Fair. It, hopefully, will be a lovely day out there. Stop by for a chat and say hello! I would love to see some familiar faces there!

Milton High School Festival

So, the first show was a big disappointment in some ways, but a wonderful lesson learnt from the whole event. Ended up frantically revamping my display in time for a short show this evening at an upscale neighborhood, and did better. Now to tweak my display further in the next two days and be ready for the show at Milton High School in Alpharetta. For those of you in the area, do swing by – there seem to be many, many vendors for this holiday bazaar. The event is on Saturday, November 13th from 10 am – 2 pm. Short and sweet.

Holiday Showcase

I’ll be at the 10th Annual MOPS Holiday Showcase at the Creekside United Methodist Church this Friday, November 5th (11 am -2 pm) and Saturday, November 6th (9 am – 4 pm).

There are over 80 vendors from whom you can get unusual and affordable holiday gifts for your friends and family. In addition, there’s food including the quickly sold-out Kickin’ Chicken Cookout on Saturday. The event is indoors, so you won’t have to worry about being cold now that cooler temperatures have kicked in out here.

I hope to see you out there at my first jewelry event. It’s going to be a couple of long days!
